Sep. 10, 1999: After some tinkering, the site is up and running. All existing county route lists have been uploaded, along with a new page on Monroe County's reference markers.
Sep. 13, 1999: Added the Saratoga County route list.
Sep. 20, 1999: Redesigned the front page and removed the county highway index to a separate page.
Sep. 26, 1999: The Reference Routes section at Empire State Roads is now open.
Oct. 7, 1999: Added the Schenectady County route list. Minor revisions have been made to several of the reference routes lists.
Oct. 8, 1999: Opened the Little Green Signs section of Empire State Roads, which deals with the system of reference markers in NYS.
Oct. 15, 1999: Some rewording and additional info on the reference routes pages, especially Regions 2 and 9.
Nov. 12, 1999: Added images to most of the county routes pages. The lists will be revised slightly over the next several weeks.
Nov. 28, 1999: The Empire State Roads quiz is now up at www.kurumi.com.
Dec. 2, 1999: Added the Livingston County route list.
Dec. 4, 1999: Part of NY 17 yesterday became I-86. This is reflected in the relevant county and reference route lists (namely, Allegany County and Regions 5 and 6).
Dec. 14, 1999: Added the New York highway travlogues, starting with US 20 and NY 17.
Dec. 16, 1999: Livingston County has been corrected with changes to the posted system of routes.
